Areas of Focus

Contributing to growing agroecology sector and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national goals and policies. The following are the areas which SAPTA focus working with.

Scaling Agroecology

Promoting agroecology, together with climate-smart and regenerative agriculture practices to support sustainable agriculture in Tanzania. These practices are crucial for farm water conservation, soil healthy management, pest and diseases management, and harvesting and post-harvest management hence increasing productivity

Responsible Livestock Systems and Animal Welfare

SAPTA promotes responsible livestock systems that ensure animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and public health. Our approach emphasizes humane care, proper nutrition, disease prevention, natural feeding, and ethical management practices, supporting organic livestock production, safe food, and sustainable livelihoods for communities.

Sustainable Mechanization

Aims to enhance sustainable agricultural production through the use of appropriate farm machinery, equipment, and draught animals, supported by effective maintenance systems and workshops. This will simplify work from land preparation, planting, weeding, pest management, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest management across sustainable agriculture value chains.

Environmental, biodiversity Conservation and Climate Resilience

Promoting sustainable environmental practices that protect natural resources, restore ecosystems, and reduce environmental degradation and destructive pressures. The organization promotes climate-resilient agriculture, tree planting, soil and water conservation, and community awareness to help farmers and communities adapt to climate change while safeguarding biodiversity and long-term ecosystem health.

”We are an agroecological organization uniquely passionate in integrating agroecology, soil regeneration, animal welfare, climate resilience, and farmer-centered innovation to build sustainable crop and livestock systems delivering solutions for farmers in Tanzania. Together, we can contribute to SDGs and cultivate a better future”
